  • Snowbirds

Yup, Soc is a snowbird – this time of year he packs up his staff and lantern (no wait, that’s his friend Diogenes) Anyhow from up here in the soon-to-be-frozen North it takes about four driving days to Florida. We will be leaving next Tuesday (Oct.11), drive down through the Mountains and be home in Florida by Friday. We’ve been doing this since 1964 or so – I expect we know the way.

    Meanwhile, consider these questions:

Do you want to travel? Where?

    Where have you traveled? Why?

  • I plan on traveling to Venice come December. I look forward to the sights , the food , coffee and the beautiful italian women.

By the way, enjoy your stay in our beautiful state of Florida. Winter by far is the best time of the year to be here.

  • I plan on going to Sao Paolo this December and spend Christmas and New Year there.

  • @The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter -  LOL As a FL resident since 1932, I’m with you – though I do try to avoid the state during hurricane season – I’ve had plenty of them already. I grew up in south FL – a much different place than it is nowadays. We now live about 15 miles south of the GA border – near the “forgotten coast”

  • @The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter -  BTW, I spent a winter in Venice and the Adriatic Sea region many years ago – december is NOT the time to go – unless you like cold weather and wading around flooded walkways – on the other hand summer is really hot in the southern part (Greece) – things don’t start there until midnight during that season.

  • @reckless_eagle -  I’ve never been to Sao Paolo, but a very good friend is a native of that part of Brazil and she says it is the garden spot of that enormous country – have fun

  • Its Chrisimas my Socrates friend. I have family there. Its all about the holidays. They will keep me warm and dry.
