Ethics
Traditionally, the rules of ethical behavior have been the responsibility of our religious institutions. In a multi-cultural society – indeed a multi-cultural world, with instant world-wide communication – religious ethical values may be at odds with each other.
What should be the basis of Ethical Behavior in a multi-cultural society and how should ethical differences be resolved?

It is possible – indeed imperative – to adopt an ethical code which crosses religious lines. There are some universal ethical values which transcend cultures; but such a shared consensus depends on the willingness of all parties to agree to recognize and respect cultural differences. The UN Declaration of Universal Human Rights is an example of this. Unfortunately, many members either just give lip service and ignore it in their own countries – or sometimes actively work against it – even to shooting 14-year-old girls who dare to try to attend school in their countries
